All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players… -Shakespeare
A brief list of current events contains some pretty disturbing things:
A group of atheists is trying to get the Good News Clubs kicked out of public schools. States are still fighting the Obama administration over gender and bathrooms. The Christians in the Middle East are facing unrelenting persecution, even the women and children. Race relations in the US seem to be getting worse and worse as both sides give in to hatred and bitterness. ISIS continues to attack in different places around the world. And in 19 days, we will have a presidential election in which (unless the Lord intervenes) there can be no *good* outcome.
I have talked with and listened to so many people who are truly terrified of what the coming weeks and months may bring. They are not wrong about the grave concerns they raise – the issues of today are serious and often dreadful. Unless Jesus Christ decides to coincide his return with the 58th quadrennial U.S. presidential election, the world will not end on November 8, 2016. This time next year (barring a miracle, major catastrophe, or the return of Christ) either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton will be president of the United States of America. Having either of two such depraved persons as our president is a frightening thought, indeed. As someone put it, “Either way, America loses.”
However, what is far scarier is the knowledge that we live in a country where people like Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton could win their respective party’s nomination. That is a definite sign of how far we have fallen in our national depravity. The people that elected men like George Washington and John Adams would not recognize the country we have become. And the country we have become cannot last long, for we no longer have a solid foundation.
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” -John Adams
“America is great because she is good. If America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.” -Alexis de Tocqueville
We are in dire straits. We are certainly doomed if we continue down this road. We cannot sit idly on the sidelines, wiling away the hours until we can finally make a statement on November 8. No, we must take action now! Read More
